Critter Crawl

Crawl along the forest floor and search for critters big and small. Observe the movements and manners of animals nearby. Learn the classification of animals and discover how they adapt to their environment.

During this class students will learn techniques that will help them in their search for the wild animals of the forest. We will learn to walk softly on the earth, hear with the ears of the dear, and see with the eyes of the owl. Students will also have the opportunity to challenge their own observational skills as they walk through our trail of hidden animal treasures.

For students in grades 3-5, an emphasis will be placed on Animal Tracking.

During this class, we will:

  • Observe the clues animals leave behind such as tracks, chews, and other mysteries.
  • Feel feathers, snake skins, and bones.
  • Move like animals through the forest.
  • Search for birds, insects, turtles, and other life.
