Garden of Wonder

Experience the joy of the garden as we investigate plant parts and their life cycles. We will work together to find out how soil is made and how our food is grown. Join us as we explore the garden with all of our senses, including taste!

“The hands on activities - building a compost pile, tasting things, seeing first hand how important and useful plant life is - everything was fabulous!”
-Kate McMillen, CC Spaulding Elementary

This class is full of wonderful discoveries. When they explore the garden, your students may discover gourds drying on the vine, Swallowtail caterpillars snacking on our fennel plants, baby rabbits hiding in the rosebushes, or carrots peeking out from the soil. Your students will also be able to taste fresh picked garden greens and herbs. Through the class, your students will be able to make the connection between what they eat and where it grows.

The class includes:

  • Garden Games
  • Hands-on compost demonstration
  • Seed planting in the garden beds
  • Smelling, touching, and tasting garden plants
