Mountain Odyssey

Experience adventures in the windswept mountains; taste the joys of wilderness living! Join Schoolhouse of Wonder on its beloved Mountain Odyssey. This overnight camp is for older campers with an interest in Earth skills, community, and exploration. We will meet Sunday afternoon July 20th in Mt. Rogers, Virginia to embark upon a week of wilderness and backpack camping. By living closely with the wind, water, and earth we hope to create an opportunity for the Earth to speak to us. Activities will include fire-making and cooking, nature arts and crafts, and a sunrise hike!

“No one was ever knowing without searching.  No one ever arrived who did not go.” -Unknown

Mountain Odyssey proves to be a remarkable experience for those who join us. Young people from across the region have come home filled with memories of their mountain adventures. There is nothing like this experience to bring young people together and to savor with them the joy of living. Sunsets, sunrises, star-filled night skies, fresh meadow blueberries, fire-baked brownies and cold mountain streams—those are all a part of this phenomenal adventure.

Pick-up is on Saturday July 26th mid-day. There will be a preliminary meeting during the week of June 30 to discuss carpooling and appropriate packing. Cost is $450/camper. For ages 12-16. We can accept 16 campers for this trip.
